New iPhone 6S ads include cameos from Jamie Foxx, Stephen Curry
Apple's latest flagship devices were quick to sell out in the tech market. Despite this, the Cupertino-based tech giant still came up with new ads for the devices to attract more potential buyers.
To make the ads more eye-catching, Apple featured famous rapper/actor Jamie Foxx and NBA star Stephen Curry. Although their appearances in the video clips were only relatively short, their presence confirmed Apple's plans of injecting today's biggest stars into its marketing projects.
The Golden State Warriors star's iPhone 6S ad focuses on the device's camera features. The video showcases the smartphone's unique camera. Every single move of the basketball star is captured in crystal clear detail as he does his turns, shoot some hoops and pose for the camera.
Foxx's ad, meanwhile, focuses on details regarding the device's hands-free Siri technology. He puts on some clothes, looks at himself in the mirror and consults Apple's digital personal assistant on whether or not he looks good with what he is wearing. "Judging from your voice, I would say you must be fairly attractive," Siri replies in the video.
This is not the rapper-turned-actor's first time to be part of an Apple marketing campaign. Foxx was also featured in a cameo for the Cupertino company's 3D Touch video, which was launched a few days ago. Just like what he did for the Siri-centric ad, Foxx was also tasked to play on his vanity.
This is also not the first time for Apple to feature celebrities in its ads. Director and actress Lake Bell was also once hired to be part of an ad for the Apple Watch. "Grease" actor John Travolta was also seen in an Apple Music ad, although his appearance in the video did not seem to have much relevance, as pointed out by CNET.
