The Google Nexus 6P is one of the best smartphones of 2015. Speculations suggest that Google will be launching its upgraded version this year. Rumours are rife that the 2016 Nexus smartphones will be built by HTC. The Nexus 6P successor is speculated to be based on HTC 10. Some of its key specs have surfaced on GeekBench benchmarking site.

The Nexus 6P powered with Snapdragon 810 and 3 GB of RAM was released in November 2015. Even though it is in good demand, it is already facing fierce competition from the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, HTC 10 and more that are equipped with Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM.

The specifications of the Google Nexus 6P (2016) listed on GeekBench reveals that it will be coming with Snapdragon 820 chipset that features a 1.59 quad-core processor and Adreno 530 graphics. It is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and it runs on Android N OS.

Speculations suggest that the Nexus 6P (2016) would be based on HTC One M10 flagship smartphone. The Nexus 6P came with a 5.7-inch display, but its sequel device is expected to house a 5.5-inch screen.

Rumours suggest that like the Nexus phones from 2015, the Nexus 6P (2016) will be coming with a fingerprint reader on its rear panel. It is also speculated to arrive with dual speakers on its front panel. The upcoming Nexus flagship is rumoured to come with a metal unibody design flanked with chamfered edges that is present on the HTC One M10.

The Android N OS will carry native support for a feature that will function like 3D Touch available on iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Hence, the HTC Nexus flagship is pegged to arrive with a pressure-sensitive screen. It is also expected to support the upcoming Nexus VR headset.
