Ever since leaks and insider information have started collecting to form an entire batch of rumours surrounding the Nexus 5, these wild talks have since sparked immense interest in the device--despite the absence of offcial word from Google.

The biggest and much-anticipated feature of the Nexus 5 would be the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. This isn't the first time that the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS has been rumoured to go with a device, the latest rumoured being the predecessor to Sony's recently unveiled device, the Sony Xperia Z1.

Part of the firmware update, according to TechRadar, includes new animations, changes in gallery visualisations and refreshed widgets, but most of these come from different sources rather than from LG or Google.

So will this piece of news for the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS really be a treat or just a trick?

Why the Nexus 5 now?

Despite most of the information being speculative rather than anything concrete, there have been leaks from sources that pointed to a fully assembled Nexus 5 that was seen through the documents from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The Verge reports that the Nexus 5 is most likely based on the LG G2, considering LG's history of basing designs off flagship devices. Still, there are reports about two models of the Nexus 5 coming out though there are no official announcements regarding the device.

A number of digital renders for your imagination

Yugatech has also created its own version of the Google Nexus 5, as can be seen in the image below. Matching the rumours, it bears the logo of LG, the supposed manufacturer for this version of the Nexus.

As can be seen in this render, the Nexus 5 has a more square-ish look compared to the device, almost having a similar render to the typical iPhone. In addition, it seems to have a bigger screen, retaining minimal bezels as well as pushing out the screen to the top and bottom parts of the front.

The basis of this particular render is mostly the leaked video from way back, which has been since then taken down.

Another render of the Nexus 5 comes from Reddit user Vovicon. Since it was first submitted, it already has undergone a few edits and is now rendered beside the two previous Nexus models that have come before it.

"I combined the dimensions and shape from the FCC filing with what we can see in the Google video. I tried to not add anything we don't know about yet but had still to guess the screen ration and position as well as the shape of bezel and sides. I also added a speaker on top a bit like the one on the Nexus 4," said Vovicon in the Reddit post.

The most intriguing of renders comes from Reddit user Annihilia, in which a 3D mockup of the device was made, taking bits and pieces of the information from a number of leaks.

"I used Blender to model it. After uploading to Sketchfab, I have the option of selecting how the materials appear on the site, including the environment map for the reflections. Couldn't resolve any speakers in the FICC pics so I did not include them. I'll probably go back and add stuff as more info is released."
