CyanogenMod 13 official support has been extended to Google’s latest range of smartphones, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. CM13 nightly was pushed to Nexus devices soon after it was made available for a handful of older generation Android phones like the Moto X and OnePlus One.

On Wednesday, the CyanogenMod 13 nightly builds were released to these devices in less than 24 hours. The builds appeared on the download page with a codename of ‘bullhead’ and ‘angler’ for Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, respectively.

Initially, the company announced seven devices that will get support. According to the XDA Developers Forum, CyanogenMod first announced the official CM13 nightly builds for OnePlus One, Nexus 7, LG G4, Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, LG GPad 7.0, LG G3 Verizon and Moto X 2014 on Monday. The Cyanogen team ensured the list of supported devices would expand fast.

The CyanogenMod nightly builds, however, come with their own set of threats. There are possibilities they might not work as designed. Thus, it’s not very advisable to install nightly builds unless one has a hang of it.

As reported by Android Police, the CyanogenMod nightly builds may not work at times or not at all because it causes a bootloop after the first installation. It might also distort the functionality of a particular feature, as well. Unless they really want to try out something adventurous or intend to fix some bugs, users should refrain from installing nightly builds. The latest CyanogenMod nightly build for Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, however, brings with it native Wi-Fi calling .
