Regardless of the type of update that Android releases, it always has an impact on devices - much more on Nexus units. As with the recent Android 5.1, Nexus are also in line for the enhancements and other features that come along with it. The release may depend on the location and type of device of the user but the rollout should happen.

The Android 5.1 should a similarly important update for Nexus users including those who own Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 and the likes as it is a maintenance release. This means Google's focus is on addressing bugs and keeping performance as smooth as possible. Likewise, the Android 5.1 release should also offer a number of new features that were unable to come with the Android 5.0 release.

A number of changes to be expected include enhanced quick settings system, protected factory reset function, and improved notifications system and HD voice support. There should also be fewer interruptions than previous Android updates. Developers should also be thrilled to find a number of new APIs to work with.
