HTC introduced a promotional sale dubbed "Hot Deals" for the U.S. customers on Nov. 4. With this deal, interested buyers were able purchase a brand new Nexus 9 tablet with a 50 percent discount of only $199. The original price of the Google Nexus 9 is $399. Needless to say, many customers flocked to get their hands on this amazing deal. Sadly, only few customers i.e. several 100s, to be precise, were able to place an order on that day.

According to Jason Mackenzie, HTC America President, the deal that lasted for a short duration was a limited-time offer and hence it included only several units of the Nexus 9. Adding to the existing woe, Jason also acknowledged that the company website did not function as expected. Owing to this fact, potential customers that wanted to purchase the Nexus 9 for half-price were disappointed, according to Phone Arena.

The good news, however, is that HTC is working hard to fix all the site related problems, so that the next "Hot Deals" sale will be without glitches. Adding a cherry on top, interested buyers can avail the Nexus 9 via the now-famous Hot Deals promotion scheduled for "every Tuesday" in the upcoming weeks. In specific, the deal will last for a total of eight weeks. Apart from the Nexus 9 tablet, HTC could also include many other devices manufactured and marketed by the company for a good discount, opines the same site.

The key specifications of the HTC Nexus 9 tablet include an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with 1,536 x 2,048 pixels resolution. It is powered by a solid dual-core (Nvidia Tegra K1) Denver processor, clocked at 2.3 GHz and backed by 2 GB of RAM. The device comes as 16 GB and 32 GB variants with no microSD card support. Speaking of camera, there is a good 8 MP rear-facing unit with LED flash and a 1.6 MP selfie-camera at the front. Being a Google device manufactured by HTC, the tablet comes with up-to-date software version of Android OS v5.0 Lollipop. This whole configuration is held together by a cool Li-Po 6,700 mAh battery unit. Reportedly, this battery can provide up to 9.5 hours of 3G talk time and 720 hours of 3G stand-by time. Similar to its predecessor Nexus 7, the Nexus 9 also supports NFC and 4G LTE, among other standard options.
