The PC vs. Mac war is back, with Microsoft attempting to take a snipe at Apple MacBook Air. Contrary to expectations, Microsoft did not use Surface Pro 3, instead, it opted to utilise the latest Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. Both the devices are pitted against each other in an interesting ad, where the weaknesses and the strengths are played off. Quite literally, both the devices dance around each other in the latest ad. [Scroll down to watch the video.]

According to the video, Apple MacBook Air comes with a 16 mm thickness, whereas the Lenovo Yoga 3 is only 13 mm thick. It also showcases how Mac cannot perform the Yoga 3 Pro's "tent" move. And how the Apple device does not have a touch-screen yet and also how Mac can never be called a tablet, reports Phone Arena.

Even though, it sounds like all the criterion are just about right, the Lenovo device is a pricey one when compares to Apple's. The Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 can be purchased for $1299, whereas the MacBook Air will set the buyers back by $999. Plus, the Yoga tablet churns out a not-so-impressive battery life of 7 hours, however, it makes up for the deficit in the form of giving the buyers a killer display. Meaning, Lenovo provides high-resolution touchscreen display that requires more juice from the battery, whereas the MacBook Air can give up to 13 hours of charge, thanks to the modest display, says The Verge. And hence, everything comes down to the preference of the user.

Out of all these, the point to be pondered is why Microsoft did not target the immediate rival iPad, instead it focused on Apple's laptop. As pointed out by Phone Arena, Apple's global tablet sales figures have been on a downward spiral for some time now. Nonetheless, the personal computer market is relatively growing stronger. With the commendable Mac sales, Apple has entered the top five PC manufacturers list for the first time. Needless to say, Microsoft took a cue of what is happening and has tried to utilise the current trend favourably via the latest ad.

Lastly, apart from the ultra-book Lenovo Yoga Pro 3, the company also introduced the Yoga Tablet 2 and the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. Interested readers should check out the killer ad.
