Nexus 9 Spotted In AnTuTu Confirming LTE, Android L, Ridiculously Powerful Tegra K1 SoC, 192-core Kepler GPU On Release Date

The much-awaited Nexus 9 tablet has landed in a benchmark testing site revealing some of the key specifications.

AnTuTu benchmark testing site has become a norm for many of the unannounced devices to make an appearance time to time. And this time around, the Nexus 9 tablet was spotted in the aforementioned site. Apparently, Google's Nexus 9 tablet is made by HTC. And the tablet has scored a whopping 45,923 in the benchmark testing, according to GSM Arena.

In addition to the score, we now have information that the Nexus 9 will run on Android 5.0 aka Android L OS (Lemon Meringue Pie). The specifications listed in the site against upcoming tablet corroborate the already available information. The killer HTC-made Nexus 9 will feature a 8.9-inch display complemented by an impressive 2,048 x 1,440 pixels screen resolution.

The device will be powered by the superior 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz and 192-core Kepler GPU. It is worth noting that, the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor is the fastest and in turn has scaled the highest spot in the benchmark ranking. GSM Arena also points out that, even with the same processor, the non-64 bit version present in the Xiaomi Mi Pad 7.9 tablet scored lesser than the 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC.

The ridiculously powerful Tegra chipset is 1.5 times more effective than the other powerful mobile-based chipsets like Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoCs. This means, the battery life will not be compromised with this killer processor on board. In addition, this chip has the ability to run the Unreal Engine 4 and can also support DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.4. To put this into perspective, the Tegra K1 is capable of doing much more than Android L OS in general. The reason being, Google Android L can only support up to OpenGL version 3.1, whereas the Tegra K1 can support the version 4.4. If this is not convincing enough, the upcoming Nexus 9 uses 64 bit K1 Denver chip and hence the benchmark score is sky high, says Phone Arena.

Apart from the processor confirmation, the site also revealed that the Nexus 9 will support LTE connectivity during its release. Apparently, the LTE information was confirmed based on the International Mobile Station Equipment Identity code (aka IMEI) on the tablet.

Other salient but rumoured features include, 16 GB and 32 GB of internal storage capacity. However, there is no information available on the expandable storage. When it comes to camera specification, the Nexus device will sport an 8 MP rear-facing camera unit and it will feature in-built stereo speakers. Furthermore, the tablet will be backed by a solid 4 GB of RAM. The expected release date of the Nexus 9 tablet is Q3 2014.
