Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon could be facing a one-year suspension after failing another drug test. This is not the first time that Gordon has violating team and league rules. According to ESPN.com, which stated unnamed league sources, Gordon has tested positive for alcohol in a new drug test.

Previously, Gordon was already suspended by the team for substance abuse in 2013 and then in 2014 was suspended in the last game of the season for violating team rules.

"Clearly we are very disappointed to hear the latest report regarding Josh," the Browns said in an official statement. "At this point, due to the confidential nature of the NFL's substance-abuse policy, we have not been made aware by the league of a failed test. We are in the process of gathering more information and will provide further comment at the appropriate time.”

Even before joining the National Football League (NFL), Gordon already had off-the-field issues. He failed a marijuana test while playing for the Baylor Bears in college football and was cut from the team.

“It was against school policy, of course, and I was [suspended] in the summer. I've definitely put that part of my life behind me. I don't plan to ever go back there. It was a difficult time, but I learned from it, and I've moved on,” Gordon said to the Houston Chronicle before joining the NFL Draft.

The 23-year-old Gordon, who is just in his third year in the league, is one of the up and coming wide receivers in the league leading the NFL in total yardage in 2013 with 1,646 receiving yards on 87 catches in just 14 games played in his sophomore season. He only played in five games in the 2014 NFL season logging in 303 receiving yards on 24 catches. Gordon is the only player in NFL history with consecutive 200-yard receiving games in the regular season.

The Browns went 7-9 in the 2014 season last in the AFC North division and missed the postseason. Gordon or anyone from his camp has yet to comment on the latest development.
