Nick Jonas recently talked about how he feels about being a gay icon. He also clarified the rumours that he smoked weed with other Disney stars, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus.

Because of the photos he took last year in his underwear only and his role as a gay martial artist for the TV show “Kingdom,” many say Nick Jonas has become a gay icon since launching his solo career away from his brothers. Asked what he really feels about being such an icon, Nick Jonas told the Rolling Stone magazine that he does not really know how to feel about it. However, he said that being an icon certainly did not make him feel bad because his goal last year was to expand his fan base and grow as an artist, and being a gay icon fits this goal.

"But my goal in the last year was to expand and grow as a person and an artist, and embracing my gay fans was a priority. Some of my gay friends have thanked me for that, and that's a really good feeling,” he shared to Rolling Stone.

In the same interview, he opened up about the rumours that he smoked weed with his former co-Disney stars Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus. Nick said he would never smoke weed in the company of his fellow Disney stars. He said this was also impossible since he was not playing around when he was 15. He said he only loosened up a bit after his Disney career.

Nick Jonas has been doing well after his Disney and Jonas Brothers days. Apart from his solo single “Jealous” landing in the top 10 of the Billboard Charts, he also worked on some notable TV projects. He even performed live for the prestigious Miss Universe 2014 finale. Most recently, it was announced that Nick would be part of Ryan Murphy’s horror-comedy anthology series “Scream Queens,” joining other remarkable stars Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lea Michele, among others. Ariana Grande was announced to be a guest star of the said series. “Scream Queens” would have a total of 15 episodes for the pilot season, and Nick’s role is a recurring one.
