Nokia Lumia: New 'Treasure Tag' Accessory Can Track Lost Keys with the Windows Phone Handsets
Anonymous sources familiar with Nokia's upcoming plans have divulged that the Finnish company is preparing to officially launch a new Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC-enabled proximity sensor accessory for the Nokia Lumia smartphone range. The Nokia Treasure Tag accessory will be able to help users track lost items like keys through an augmented reality app on the Windows Phone handset.

The recently supported Kickstarter project called Tile shares a comparable concept with Nokia's small square Treasure Tag accessory. The Nokia Treasure Tag can be attached to a hip flask, wallet or set of keys and the battery is designed to be turned on and last for about six months as it utilizes the first Bluetooth Low Energy support.
A Windows Phone app will be available on the Nokia Lumia smartphone that shows the location of the Tag accessory on a map with the full Nokia LiveSight augmented reality view. As long as the Nokia Lumia device is within a close range, the user can also press the button on the Tag that will sound off a notification alarm on the smartphone.
However, it has not yet been confirmed if the Treasure Tag accessory will still periodically update its location to the Nokia Lumia smartphone once the user traveled out of the Bluetooth connectivity range. Additionally, Nokia Lumia users can view the directions on the smartphone's screen that points where to go in order to retrieve the lost item.
The Nokia Treasure Tag accessory will reportedly debut in a couple of weeks once the Finnish smartphone manufacturer rolls out the Amber update including the Bluetooth 4.0 support. Nokia has plans as well of announcing a number of extra smartphone accessories for the Nokia Lumia range that can function with the latest Windows Phone Bluetooth 4.0 support.
