Nokia Normandy: Leaked Images Show Overall Design, Interface And Color Options For Budget Android Phone
Another round of leaked image has shown the overall smartphone design, interface and color options for the Nokia Normandy Budget Android phone. Notable mobile device source @evleaks made the revelation on Twitter displaying the handset's six color options such as black, cyan, green, red, white and yellow.
"Nokia Normandies, 2014," the post on Twitter account @evleaks read. The NDTV Gadgets report found the leaked image on the Nokia Normandy reminiscent to the new Nokia Asha phone line up such as Asha 500, 502 and 503.
The leaked image showed the Normandy smarpthone's dual-SIM feature and homescreen housing apps such as MixRadio, Skype, Twitter and Plants vs. Zombies, among others. Even with different apps found on the Normandy homescreen, the GSMArena report pointed out the Android phone's homescreen still looks a lot like the tile-based UI found on the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 handsets.
The alleged Nokia device was also spotted in a leaked engineering prototype image. Twitter account @seamissu posted: "@evleaks the engineering prototype of Nokia Normandy." Click HERE to see the leaked image showing the Nokia branding on the Normandy smarphone's screen.
The Finnish smartphone manufacturer has not given any details yet on the features and specs of the alleged Nokia Normandy budget phone. The reported Normandy specs include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC, 4-inch FWVGA screen display, 5MP camera and Android 4.4.1 KitKat.
"The first test device making use of the alternative OS is supposedly codenamed Nokia Normandy. If it gets to production, it will be released in a variety of colors (typical of Nokia's lower end offerings) and will have a 4-inch screen and dual SIM support. The product code for the phone is said to be RM-980," GSMArena's December 2013 report read.
According to the BGR report, the latest leaked images did not offer additional details on the Nokia Normandy but they could serve as a good indication that Nokia and Microsoft are working on the devices behind closed doors.
As for the Nokia Normandy launch schedule, the budget Android phone is expected to be officially unveiled at the 2014 Mobile World Congress. The event's schedule has been confirmed to take place from Feb. 24-27 at the Fira Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain.
