Now this is something you don’t see every day. Takijistan President Emomali Rahmon has ordered the shutdown of YouTube in his country for allowing the upload of video, featuring the top government official in quite, embarrassing moment.

Embarrassing if you may call it to see the No. 1 Takijistan official singing and dancing at his son’s wedding. It was a video shot in 2007 but was only uploaded on YouTube on May 18, 2013 titled “"Drunk Tajik President Sings a Song."

A look at the video showed President Rahmon not having a care in the world and was seen singing at the top of his lungs - - off key and apparently drunk. He was not alone in the “singing crime” however as another old man was singing with him. As if could sense that his singing could haunt him (like it did now), his “accomplice” replaced the President’s microphone with his as can be seen in the video.

But it did not quite help tone down the audio of the Presiden’t voice and he could still be heard singing, very much off-key. Then a third man tried to protect President Rahmon by enjoining him to dance. The President did. It must have been as “embarrassing as his singing” that his son and his daughter-in-law were soon simply standing from behind, stood still, literally. You would expect that one would rock his head to hear one sing and dance as joyfully and cheerfully as his dad, but the President’s son, stood still at the background. Really.

It was, albeit natural for a father to have fun at a wedding, especially if that involved his son. But the video could have started, and it did spark some mockery of the President in his country. Not long after it was online, it reached a staggering 300,000 views. Then it reached the attention of the good President and his people.

Not a very good public relations image for the President. The President then ordered the shutdown of YouTube in his country. Not only did he order YouTube to bring down the video. He ordered block of YouTube access in Tajikistan.

Lesson learned: Don’t mess with The President.

Note: He may have succeeded blocking access of the video in Tajikistan, but the video can still be viewed from around the world. Scroll down the VIDEO of the President at his son’s wedding in 2007.
