Samsung orders out the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean firmware update for both Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus firmware update reached Austria first and it means more countries nearby are going to get their updates soon.

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update
The official firmware update for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is now live for Entel PCS users in Chile. It has a firmware number of XXDMB1 and available on Samsung Kies for download. If you cannot download it via Samsung Kies, here is the manual update guide for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 XXDMB1 firmware build.

Warning: This guide will require a software tool called Odin to flash the firmware manually. The update only applies to Galaxy Tab 7.0 P3100. It will erase all personal information and data files on the device, make sure to create a backup. Do this at your own risk.

1. Download the Android 4.1.2 P3100XXDMB1 for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100 and Odin 3.07 tool.

2. Extract P3100XXDMB1_P3100ITVDMB1_ITV.zip and get the file with .tar extension from the unzipped folder.

3. Extract the Odin3 v3.07.exe from the Odin zip file.

4. Turn off the tablet off and wait for 5 seconds to complete the power cycle.

5. Reboot it to Download mode. Press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power keys and wait till the screen flashes the Samsung logo.

6. Run Odin3 v3.07.exe as Administrator rights.

7. Connect the device to your computer and Odin tool should flash "added." If it does not, connect it to another port or install the appropriate drivers.

8. Select the following files for Odin from the extracted XXDMB1 firmware:

a. PDA button - .tar extension file

b. Phone button - Select the "modem" file, ignore if it doesn't exist

c. CSC button - Select the "csc" file, ignore if it doesn't exist

d. PIC button - Select the .pit file, use this only if you have it during the extraction earlier

e. Check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are selected, check Re-Partition if using a .pit file

9. Click "Start" button to begin the installation process.

10. Wait for "PASS" notification to appear then let the device reboot automatically. Unplug the device from the computer.

Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
The firmware build number is P6200XXMC3 and dated March 25, 2013. The update should be available to either Over-the-Air process or Samsung Kies. Users can check the "Settings > About Tablet > Software Update" to check only new firmware or download the Samsung Kies and install them on your computer, then launch the program and connect the tablet to receive any new updates.
