OnePlus X is the newest smartphone from the upstart Chinese brand based in Shenzhen. The new handset has been approved by TENNA, the Chinese regulatory body, which also revealed the phone’s specifications along with some photos.

Citing information from TENNA, G for Games said the model number of the OnePlus X listed with the regulatory body is ONE E1001. As of this writing, however, there’s no confirmation on whether the handset will be launched as OnePlus X or OnePlus Mini.

The handset will feature a 4.99-inch OLED display that will carry support for full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will produce a pixel density of 441 ppi.

The OnePlus Mini or OnePlus X will be powered by the Snapdragon 801 SoC. It’s the same chipset present under the hood of the OnePlus One handset released in 2014. The quad-core processor of the OnePlus One clocked in at 2.0 GHz, but the one inside the OnePlus Mini clocks at 2.26 GHz. It will be supported by 3 GB of RAM.

The internal storage of the OnePlus X will be 16 GB. The phone will also have a microSD slot, a feature that’s unavailable on the OnePlus 2 flagship. The rear will feature a 13 MP camera whereas the front will house an 8 MP camera.

OnePlus X will be preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS that will be modified by the OxygenOS from OnePlus. Previous rumours suggest it will pack a 2,450 mAh battery and will also carry support for NFC and 4G connectivity.

OnePlus posted a teaser image that features a large-sized “X” and said it will unveil a new device on Oct. 29, said a post on the official OnePlus India Facebook page. According to Phone Arena, the OnePlus X is speculated to be unleashed on that day. The handset will be launched with a price of $249 (AU$339).
