PC version of ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ releasing in January
Crystal Dynamic’s second entry in the “Tomb Raider” reboot, “Rise of the Tomb Raider” released for the Xbox One last month as the same time as “Fallout 4,” is probably one of the most anticipated titles of November. As such, the game reportedly did not sell well despite being a good entry. However, the developer is looking to release the game for another platform so it could still have a chance to redeem itself.
Before the initial launch of “Rise of the Tomb Raider,” Crystal Dynamics noted that both the PlayStation 4 and the PC version will come later than the Xbox One version. For the PC port, the developer noted a vague early 2016 launch date but an Amazon listing shows that the ”Rise of the Tomb Raider” will launch on January 29, PCGamer reports.
Sadly, the PlayStation 4 version of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” still has an unclear release date. However, Crystal Dynamics does promise that the game will launch next year.
Also releasing next month is a DLC for “Rise of the Tomb Raider” entitled 'Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch.' The DLC was first revealed during the recently concluded Game Awards through a trailer seen below. Crystal Dynamics is yet to confirm whether or not the DLC will be available for the PC version at launch date.
The DLC adds a whole new story for players to accomplish. As such, there will be new areas, collectibles and tombs as well. The add-on will put Lara inside a forest that is ruled by the mythical Baba Yaga. The Baba Yaga is a witch originating from Slavic folklore.
Players will be delighted to know that the DLC will add hours more of game time when it launches in January. Season Pass owners will instantly have the DLC but those who don’t have it can still purchase the DLC separately.
