'American Idol' season 11 runner up recently said that there is no need for any protest to be done by a Fil-Am community group based in D.C. The group was reportedly requesting the reality talent show of how much of the 132 million votes were for the young Filipino-Mexican singer.

However, Sanchez herself insists that there is no need for any clarifications since she thinks everything was done fair.

The young 'American Idol' runner up was seen performing during the National Memorial Day concert in honour of veterans and soldiers. She was joined in by other singers such as Natalie Cole and Chris Daughtry.

The father of the 16-year-old is also part of the military and this goes the same for her grandfather. Her father, Gilbert Sanchez, is a veteran from the Navy who served in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. Her Filipina mother's father is also a retired Navy.

Sanchez sang three songs starting off with the US national anthem, 'The Prayer,' and 'America, The Beautiful.' During her interview with Asiaone after her performance, she shared that she worked hard to get to where she is now and that she is happy and content about it.

However, she admitted that she also saw contender Phillip Phillips worked as much, or may even harder considering his health condition.

Nevertheless, Sanchez is very grateful for the solid support she got from a lot of fans due to her Filipino-Mexican background. Latest news is that Tommy Mottola is rumoured to be producing Sanchez's very first album for the Casablanca-UMG label.
