The recently announced 'American Idol' winner is all set to go under the knife for his build up of kidney stones this coming Tuesday.

According to reports, Phillip Phillip's doctors have already recommended that the 21-year-old 'American Idol 2012' winner go through the needed surgery even before the finale of the show. However, he refused to avoid the possibility of not having fought hard enough for the title he recently won.

The recovery period that Phillips may have to wait for will be up to six weeks. He will stay in the home of the producer of 'American Idol' together with his family as he waits to get well.

Additional reports said that he has undergone a total of eight surgeries already since January. But as the competition was becoming stressful for everyone, Phillips' father said that his son could not deny the pain of his health issue.

During 'The Tonight Show,' Phillips said that his surgery will not stop him from joining the much awaited 'Idols Live Tour' with the rest of the other top contestants of 'American Idol' season 11.

It just seemed that his win is on perfect timing for his surgery. On other news, sources told TMZ that Phillips gave his brand new Ford Fusion car to his parents as gift. He did not want to give up his old school 2001 Ford Ranger.
