Plants vs. Zombies 2: How to Download the Game Early
Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been a much-awaited game, but currently, only residents in two key areas are enjoying the game since its soft-launch in July 10 in Australia and New Zealand.
The earlier July 18 worldwide release peg has already been disconfirmed, with the release date pushed back to an unspecified "summer" release.
If you have been following the gameplay videos and trailer and just want to get the game for yourself so you can start shooting those zombies with plants peas, there is a way to get the Plants vs. Zombies 2 earlier on your iOS device.
Note that you have to set the new account from the U.S. to Australia so that you can get the apps that are available only for that territory.
TechSmartt warns that your device should not be running on the beta iOS 7 as it is not compatible with the procedure. It should just be on iOS 6 for this hack to work.
The first step is to go to Apple Support, so you can create a new iTunes Account from a different country. You then need to go to the App Store tab on iTunes, so you can download a free application.
Pick any free app, then so click on free, and you'll be directed to a pop-up window. Click on that, and you'll have to pass through the terms and conditions. You'll end up with a screen where you will have to provide your Apple ID details.
According to TechSmartt, when you fill in your information, you can either make sure that you can remember the details, in case you need to use the Australia account again. When you hit continue, you will then be asked to provide a payment method.
Remember to click "NONE," especially if you are not thinking using the account again. Otherwise, if you do want to use the account to get the latest paid apps before everyone else--as Australia gets them before the rest of the world.
You just have to confirm the account you created, and go to the homepage. Look through the App Store for the Plants vs. Zombies 2 app. When you find it, simply click on "free," then login with the details you previously created. You'll see the app downloading to your iTunes account.
It will then be placed inside your account, which you can then connect with your device and install the app.
Here's the video from TechSmartt, which demos the steps clearly and with visuals.
Premium in-app content and what you will get
As the game is still in beta mode, some of the gameplays that are circulating have shown that Plants vs. Zombies 2 is generally a game that you can play through without having to worry about spending.
Though it's a freemium, the main question here is if you would opt to play through the obstacles to unlock the levels, or you can just pay to bypass them--a pretty similar approach with Candy Crush Saga as of the moment.
"We really tried to make a consumer trade-off for time versus money," said Alan Murray, lead producer, to DigitalSpy. "In this arrangement, time is far better value, because we're asking you to go back and replay levels for stars and keys, but we've created new ways for you to play them."
Even without paying, you have access to three maps, Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, and Wild West. According to DigitalSpy, in these maps, you have to pay to get four plants from the original--the Squash, Jalapeno, Snow Pea, and Torch Wood--plus a new plant, Power Lily. But other than that, you can easily unlock several plants that you can use instead.
There are also great bonuses which you can either purchase or just wait for them to randomly drop, such as the power-up leaf, which allows your plants to get a skill boost. So a Peashooter can become a Gatling Pea for a short period of time to get rid of all the zombies in the map.
For now, the report states that developers are looking at a month-long beta release in Australia to observe and set up pricing and consumer behavior. But the date for worldwide release is yet to be specified.
