Pokemon X and Y News: Another Possible Cheating Method and Counter-Cheat for Online Hack?
The Pokemon X and Y game seems to be the target of cheats. Not only did it begin with the software that has been maliciously used and modified to create a cheat program, but now, there's another way that hacking could become even easier on Pokemon X and Y.
Now, it seems that editing Pokemon files from Pokemon X and Y has been made possible by a community that has previously tried to disassemble and document the files from the game.

Nintendo 3DS Daily reports that the basic tool to edit the files has been released by a GBA Temp member named codemonkey85. The tool allows you to edit basic files in the Pokemon X and Y monster by editing the IVs, EVs, experience level, and even the Pokedex ID.
A screenshot of the tool has been provided in the link above. What's more, you can also intercept the data that is sent from the 3DS and the PC so that you can easily insert your generated code to edit those in the Pokemon X and Y game.
This seems to be the Pokemon generation that has experienced quite a number of cheats. Are you worried about the cheats coming out for Pokemon X and Y?

Counter-measure for cheat being developed?
Remember how the Pokemon X and Y Battle Analyser surfaced? It seemed that a 100% chance of gaming online without any cheats would seem impossible from then on, as you don't know when the opponent on the other end is actually using the Pokemon X and Y cheat.
The Battle Analyser, which is said to be an evolved and modified version of the Instacheck program meant to make finding Shiny Pokemons easier, has now made cheating easier for the sixth generation Pokemon game.
At the get-go, Pokemon X and Y gamers wanted Game Freak to create a counter measure to prevent any cheating from happening. After all, the Rated Battles have already been cancelled as it is, probably to prevent these types of cheatings from happening.

A community effort to counter the cheat
But it seems that those in NeoGAF are putting in more effort and are trying to find a solution themselves. In an updated post by one of the users, OmegaDonut, it seems that one of the NeoGAF members are trying to find a counter-cheat.

"Fortunately, Kazo has developed a working prototype for a counter-program that renders the cheat program ineffective, which works by sending false team and move information to the opponent. The games are able to distinguish the real data and ignore the fake data, but the cheat program cannot."

However, this counter-measure seems to still be a work in progress, and that the community is being called on to make the cheat jammer even more effective. What it needs is to have realistic-looking movesets, variations, and other abilities. The community can then contribute more effective and standardised movesets to confuse the cheat program.
You can check out this community forum to see the progress of the counter-program and to contribute some moves that can help make it more effective.
