Pokemon X and Y Tips: Matching Up Pokemons to See Who Wins; Quick Guide to EV Training and Hordes
With Pokemon X and Y's 718 Pokemons to find, battle out with, and collect, it can get a little harder to know how to defeat which Pokemon efficiently. With all the attacks, special moves, and combined types that the Pokemons can have, it's hard to keep track on what exactly to do as a Pokemon trainer.
This is the reason why a chart depicting the strengths and weaknesses of the pocket monsters in Pokemon X and Y, found by Kotaku in Reddit, is very helpful in situations like these.
The chart, created by Redditor Sheri-B, lists down all 18 types of Pokemons that can be found in Pokemon X and Y, with the amount of damage that it can take and can throw to particular types. For instance, the Fire type lists down 2x the damage to Bug, Grass, Ice, and Steel Types, while it can take 2x Damage from Ground, Rock, and Water Types.
"Mine is designed this way for readability and quick-reference. That's why I stuck to using the original, recognizable icons for the types, rather than redesigning them or updating the graphics," said Sheri-B. "I wanted to be able to figure out exactly what I needed within 2 seconds."
This is pretty useful, as you can know the biggest amount of damage that you can inflict on a particular type, as well as the least amount of damage that you can inflict on another type in Pokemon X and Y.
At the start, it can be pretty confusing and overwhelming-imagine all the damage rates for all 18 types, as the chart lists down 2x Damage to a type, ½ Damage to a type, 2x Damage from a type, and ½ Damage from a type at the same time.

EV training guide: How it can be faster than Super Training
Reddit is becoming a haven for Pokemon X and Y tips and tricks, aside from getting tips on how to find Shiny Pokemons. And one of the best out there is a traditional EV training guide where you're taught to take advantage of hordes of Pokemons.
Created by Redditor Raichudoggy, the guide talks about how EV training can be used instead of Super Training and let you achieve your goal even faster. However, there are a number of things that you need with you to make efficient use of this guide.
These include the Power Item of the stat that you need to improve on, a Pokerus, a fishing rod, and a Pokemon with a sweet scent. You also need to have your Exp Share turned on, but it will also affect your other party, so keep that in mind. Lastly, you need to be able to fight off hordes quickly so it'll be effective.

"It is, of course, easier to Super Train at first, but once you amass BP like mad, it'll become easier and faster to do the traditional method. Especially because of Hordes. Hordes are awesome," said Raichudoggy.
Something to keep in mind though is that Pokerus is part of the list, and according to IGN, it's a very rare virus in Pokemon X and Y. However, once you do get it, you will be able to shorten the time it takes to earn Effort Values. The best way for this virus to be within your grasp is to make sure that at least one Pokerus-infected Pokemon is in the Pokemon Storage system, so you can use it for the EV training.
Gaming news for PS4 and Xbox One fans: An Android-based gaming device is coming out this month, while Minecraft is progressing for the PS3.
Redditor Raichudoggy also provides a number of places where you can go, depending on which stat you want to power up on. For instance, you can go to the Pokemon Village for HP, Route 22 for ATK, Route 19 for Attack, Route 21 or 7 for Special Attack, and Lombre, Swablu or Tentacool for Special Defense.
To improve on speed, you can either go to Luvdisc or Azure Bay. Check out the link above for the complete instructions on what to do in each venue to get the most of the stat you're improving on.
