Talk of improvements in hardware for the Xbox One has been rampant, alongside the automatic question of what Sony will do about the PS4 to catch up, if the DirectX 12 plan does push the power of Microsoft's next-gen higher.

It seems that the slight difference in architecture between the PS4 and Xbox One is situated in the PlayStation Shader Language that is supposedly a mix of DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.4.

GamingBolt reports that PS4 games can actually have a shorter load time and look even better once Graphine Software comes in to aid the Granite SDK. It seems that Partial Resident Textures are the way to go so you can improve memory bandwidth and cache. It also makes life easier for developers in that it will only allow for the relevant textures to load instead of the entire texture.

"Sony has announced that Partially Resident Textures is available for PS4. This is aimed at doing the same thing as the Tiled Resources feature of DX11.1+. We sometime refer to both using the term hardware virtual texturing," said Graphine CEO Alijosha Demeulemeester to GamingBolt.

"The bottom-line is that you can really increase the graphical fidelity of games, while staying within the limit of the current hardware."

Speaking of improvements, the PS4 1.7 SHAREfactory app has been teased in a trailer. This app comes with the 1.7 update and will allow for video capturing and editing so that you can enjoy the activity more.

VG 24/7 reports that you can easily add stickers and commentary to the clips you capture. In addition, importing of music can also be done via SHAREfactory with the use of an USB, though the specifics of how this will go about have not been discussed. Hit the link to check out the video.

There's something for everyone in the upcoming confirmed lineup for the PlayStation Plus coming in May.

PlayStation Blog Europe lists down the free games that PS Plus members can look forward to, starting with Stick to the Man for the PS4. This is an indie game from Zoink Games, and one that you should take advantage of, as the PS4 port was not included in the Cross-buy that's available for the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game.
