At Gamescom 2014, Sony had revealed quite a handful of games and new features, but most notable of this is the Share Play, which will be coming in with the PS4 Firmware 2.0 Update in the fall of this year.

However, there are a few new restrictions and additional information about the PS4's newest feature that have just come to light.

The first is that, according to GameSpot, Share Play is only available for use in 60-minute sessions. This was confirmed with the additional clause that there is no limit to how many times Share Play can be used. This means that you can easily start-up Share Play again for another session, but as to how this will affect the previous gaming you've been doing remains to be confirmed.

Apart from this new feature, however, PlayStation Lifestyle adds that Share Play can be used for any game as long as it's playable with the DualShock 4.

Quoting a report from Japanese magazine Famitsu, it seems that so long as you are sent an invitation, the invited player can get into the PS4 game while watching the ongoing gameplay via video streaming.

However, since the progress of the game is technically done for that of the host--you can ask a friend to finish a level for you--any progress done with the Share Play feature will naturally be credited to the host.

Sony has given a statement on this matter, as quoted by PlayStation Lifestyle:

"In Share Play, the visitor (the one who doesn't own the game) takes over the host (the one who owns the game)'s account, so the visitor cannot save their play data onto their own account."

And if you think that Gamescom was already an overflowing hodgepodge of PS4 updates and new features, Sony Worldwide Studios main man Shuhei Yoshida begs to differ. According to him, there's more to come in September, in time for the Tokyo Game Show.

Quoted by VG 24/7, Yoshida's interview had hinted that Sony did not have the time or the chance to reveal all the games that they wanted to reveal at Gamescom.

"To be honest, in selecting the games we wanted to introduce, we realized it wasn't possible to fit everything into the frame of the conference, so unfortunately there were some games we couldn't introduce this time," Yoshida said as quoted by VG 24/7.

Because of this, some of the games need to wait until the TGS 2014 for them to finally come to light. There are even hints that local-made games from Japan will also be coming to promote the PS4 in its homeland. Hopefully, these new games will also find their way to the west and beyond.
