Apart from games, the PlayStation Vue has also just become available for the PS4 and PS3 in specific U.S. cities. According to PlayStation Lifestyle, PS4 and PS3 owners in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York can try out the cloud-based service today.
The PlayStation Vue starts at $49.99, which features the “Access” package of channels like AMC, Animal Planet, BET, CBS, Comedy Central, Fox, FX, MTV, NBC, TBS, TNT and USA, among others. Two other packages are offered to add more channels. The first is the $59.99 Core package, which adds some regional sports networks, while the Elite $69.99 package includes the channels in the previous two packages plus 25 more channels.
A weekly trial is also available for the three cities. In the future, the report states that Sony is going to bring it to more territories, as well as add in support for the iPad.
Interestingly, the PlayStation Vue comes out just shortly after Microsoft announced the Sling TV for the Xbox One. Both services are aimed at providing console players with a way to watch TV shows, movies and sports without a cable subscription.
