The PS4 is one of the hot topics in cloud gaming as it recently released word on the upcoming PlayStation Now, which is the console's component on the cloud.

Now, more reports trickle in about the new service, starting with the new hardware update that Sony has planned. According to a report from Eurogamer, a new PS3 console may be released with a new OS that is tailored to support the PlayStation Now streaming services.

The new PS3 may feature eight custom console units with a single rack server. It seems that this was done so that hardware changes to the PS3 configuration can be allowed. This may be the first of many phases that Sony has in store for the Gaikai-powered service, as it had already laid out some of its plans for PlayStation Now and cloud gaming for the PS4.

So far, the plan is that there will be phased roll-outs, with beta runs until the end of 2014's first quarter, a U.S. launch sometime in Q2 along with other PlayStation platforms, partner devices and other Japan and Korea launches by Q4, and finally, the European launch come the first quarter of 2015.

The measured roll-outs of the PlayStation Now will hopefully provide some kind of order when it comes to cloud gaming, considering that anything related to online has had a fair share of crashes and issues at launch.

Multiplayer maps revealed for Killzone: Shadow Fall

One of the PS4's exclusives, Killzone: Shadow Fall, has gotten an update in the form of sneak peeks for upcoming multiplayer maps. PlayStation Blog Europe has gotten the information from Guerilla Games, where two key locations inspired by the single-player campaign will debut in the multiplayer.

"The maps will be released to the community free of charge, and will be fully compatible with Killzone: Shadow Fall's Custom Warzone feature," said Poria Torkan of Guerilla Games.

The first map is called The Cruiser, which will put you in a claustrophobic mood and test your close and mid-range combat skills. There's also The Hangar, which appears to be the opposite of the first one. Here, you have open spaces inside mining spires, where sniping will be the name of the game.

Guerilla Games has also confirmed that they are already working on the DLC pack, though no details have been revealed yet.

HBO Go coming to PlayStation

Over at PlayStation Blog, another entertainment app is heading for both the PS3 and PS4. According to the report, HBO CEO Richard Plepler has announced that the HBO GO app will be debuting first on the PS3 followed by the PS4.

Though no timeline has been given regarding the release dates on the two consoles, having the HBO GO app can now allow unlimited access to shows like Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, as well as movies and specials.

The PlayStation's official announcement was captured by Engadget, and adds that there won't be any payment services for the PS4, compared to the Xbox One.

"PS3 getting its very own @HBOGO app, with a PS4 app to follow."
