The certification means that Razer’s new gaming laptop underwent hundreds of different systematically formulated tests to ensure it has the highest audio-visual standards possible. The THX process involves the new Blade Pro’s display being calibrated and tested for resolution, colour precision and video playback performance. This should benefit users who are meticulous when it comes to playing FPS games or watching SFX-packed films.
The same goes with the new Razer Blade Pro’s audio jack. It has completed tests concerning signal-to-noise ratio, frequency response, voltage output, crosstalk and distortion to make sure it provides audiophile-quality performance with low noise.
“The Razer Blade Pro is a top-level laptop, providing excellent THX viewing mode and audio experience,” says THX CEO Ty Ahmad-Taylor. “It can easily handle extreme gaming and content creation with exceptional mobile audio and visual performance.”
The new Razer Blade Pro 2017 laptop packs an overclocked 7th generation Intel Core i7 quad-core chipset that should cover not only gaming, but creative and professional tasks as well. Razer Synapse is installed to help users make easy switches to overclock mode. The new gaming laptop also utilises better 32GB DDR4 system memory than the previous model at 2,667MHz (versus the former’s 2,133MHz).
Razer says that the new Blade Pro is “the thinnest laptop with the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU,” which means it’s portable, VR-ready and capable of handling punishing graphics. It furnishes a 17.3-inch 4K IGZO display fortified with NVIDIA G-SYNC enhancement that covers 100 percent Adobe RGB colour accuracy.
The new Razer Blade Pro 2017 gaming laptop is now available in the US for US$3,999.99, in Canada for CA$5799.99, in the UK for £3,799.99, and in Germany and France for €4,499.99 (via Razer’s official website and select retailers). Worldwide shipping is set to commence in April. Australia is not included on the initial launch list, so no official local pricing is currently available. The UK price converts to about AU$6,159.99.
