Reasons Why iPhone 5 Will Have 4-Inch Display
Consumers can expect a wider screen from the new iPhone 5 by tech giant Apple, Inc. (NYSE:AAPL).
There are a lot of rumors emerging about the highly-anticipated iPhone 5. As expected from the Cupertino-based company, it did not confirm any of the rumors and we may not hear from the company until the launch. There are two types of iPhone 5 rumors; the specifications and features of the device and its release.
Here are the reasons why the new iPhone will be equipped with a 4-inch Display. Apple follows certain laws when releasing an iOS device, these are:
- Apple will only do things that grow profits now, or better position them to grow profits in the future.
- Apple will delight users with magical experiences, except where doing so would conflict with the first law.
- Apple will empower developers to make insanely great apps, as long as doing so doesn't conflict with the first and second laws.
According to Apple's Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, Jony Ive, Apple is trying "develop products that seem somehow inevitable."
Based on aforementioned laws, iPhone 5 will sport a larger screen is almost "inevitable." This thought is fueled by the report that Chin-based tech components company and Apple partner and supplier, Foxconn, will build a new plant in China. It will produce iPhone touchscreens based on technologies provided by Sharp.
Last March, Hon Hai, the company that holds Foxconn, bought nearly half of a Sharp factory in Japan, plus an 11% stake of the entire company for $808 million. It is believed that the acquisition of Foxconn of Sharp is meant to increase the roles and participation of the two companies as Apple's suppliers.
Some of the rumors about the new iPhone 5 such as it will be equipped with a variant of A5X chip, 1GB RAM in iPhone 4S/iPhone 4 casing. There is also a rumor that the next generation of iPhone will be released in June. However, other rumors say that iPhone 5 will be released in October 2012, which will sport the same screen size; support 4G LTE like the new iPad 3 and will come with a new micro dock connector.
