Last week, a slew of live LG G4 or LG G4 Note images were making rounds in the blogosphere. Even though there was no confirmation, the images were presumed to be that of the bigger G4 Note by several tech Websites. As such, the handset reportedly looked every bit of a flagship device with the traditional rear-mounted keys for power and volume, along with a huge display. But, as it turns out, the images do not belong to the flagship G4 or the bigger sibling G4 Note.

Apparently, XDA-Developers site has ferreted out the new details stating that the alleged LG G4 images come with a baseband version of MPSS.DPM.2.0.c11-00010-M8936FAAAANUZM-1. And reportedly, this band cannot belong to any flagship device. This is predominantly because the device in question is apparently powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 chip with a quad-core processor and Adreno 405 graphics for the GPU. Therefore, the new LG device is a mid-ranger and not a flagship, notes Phone Arena.

On the other hand, XDA Developers say, the leaked LG images could pertain to LG G4s, which is the successor of the LG G3s. Although, the handset carries the exterior design of the flagship, under the hood, the handset does not house cutting-edge configurations like a flagship. In hindsight, the LG G3s apparently comes with a 5.0-inch display packed with 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. Other key features include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1 GB of RAM configuration, notes Phone Arena.

In the meantime, here is a list of LG G4 specifications rumoured so far. The handset will reportedly feature a 5.6-inch display complemented by 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. Under the hood, the phone will apparently be powered by a 64-bit, octa-core (Snapdragon 810) SoC. When it comes to camera specification, the G4 will sport either a 16 MP unit or a much-better 20 MP unit with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support. And if reports are true, LG could be opting for 3 GB RAM configuration and not the rumoured 4 GB one. With respect to memory configuration, there will apparently be 32 GB of built-in storage capacity.

Other rumoured LG G4 specifications include a brand new payment system similar to Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. Plus, a fingerprint scanner similar to high-end Samsung and Apple devices has also been tipped. Moreover, the LG G4 release date is set for Q2 2015, according to Phone Arena. In any case, readers should note that, the tech giant has not confirmed the LG G4 release date and specifications thus far.
