‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ game director reveals details about the title
Xbox One fans can look forward to the quality and gameplay experience that the console exclusive “Rise of the Tomb Raider” has to offer. According to game director Brian Horton, a seamless experience awaits once players get into the boots and gear of Lara Croft.
Crystal Dynamics’ Horton revealed new game details for the upcoming reboot of the series. In an interview with Gamingbolt, Horton confirmed that the next Lara Croft title will not be hindered by loading screens. This means that players will no long have to sit through loading screens when changing locations as the experience will be a fluid one that the developer promised to only stop once the player either decides to either quit the session or his character dies in the process.
Horton also added that the game’s world will be three times more expansive and explorable than previous titles. As far as puzzles are concerned, which have been a part of previous “Tomb Raider” titles, this iteration will feature a new approach, which the developer called the “Nested Puzzle Approach.” It will involve several small puzzles, all of which will be required in solving a bigger one.
Overall, it appears that the developer’s aim is to give players a survival feel for the game, as “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will focus more on gathering and making use of resources, Examiner reports.
The choice for resources is vast and players can get creative when upgrading equipment. Lara can gather these resources in a variety of ways including hunting or by simply looking. In the gameplay trailer, a player used wood and a deer carcass to strengthen Lara’s bow.
“Rise of the Tomb Raider” is a sequel to the 2013 reboot of the series. This title puts Lara Croft on her first intentional quest where she explores Siberian myths, historic locations and fabled challenge puzzles. The game’s story pits Lara against a new foe called the Trinity. The group is a shadow organization that aims to unravel the secrets of The Lost City and The Lost Prophet.
“Rise of the Tomb Raider” will launch for the Xbox One on Nov. 10, 2015. Despite previous news that the game will be exclusive for the Xbox One, the game will launch for the PS4 and PC after a year.
