Rockin’ Kickstarter PS4, Xbox One Projects: 'Skyrim'-like RPG ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance’ and ‘To The Death’ from Ex-'COD' Devs
Kickstarter has been a home to many successful projects, from the acclaimed record holder $99 controller Ouya to a number of games that are coming to different platforms.
This time, two more games have garnered fan interest, as they are not only headed to next-gen consoles but also hark back to the essence of previously loved games.
'Kingdom Come: Deliverance'
A little bit of "Skyrim," "The Witcher," "Red Dead Redemptiom" and "Dark Souls tossed" into one historical game that goes back to the 15th century in the Middle Ages---that's what players are looking at with 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance.'
At the time of writing, there are still 28 days to go before the project funding time frame expires (which will be on Feb 20, 4:00 pm EST). There are already 6,157 backers, and over a third of the required £300,000 goal already reached at £184,919.
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" aims for a more realistic RPG game that's also a first-person and open world experience. What's interesting here is that the story is non-linear, as players can choose if their character will become a villain or a savior, with their decision allowing for multiple ways for the quests to end.

There will also be a considerable amount of gameplay, as players are given three acts, and one act alone already has 30 hours of gameplay and spans 3.5 square miles in the game. The character players choose also goes deep and beyond his role. Players will also be building relationships with other characters and improving themselves in a number of ways.
And to set it apart from other RPGs filled with fantasy and elves, Warhorse Studios opted for a more medieval focus. "Think of it as Braveheart: The Game. Majestic castles, armored knights, large, open field battles, and political intrigue set in a vast, emergent world," the game developer writes in the Kickstarter page.
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" will run on CryEngine, similar to what "Crysis," "Ryse" and "Star Citizen" were made on.
The game is already slated for the PC, Mac, Linux and next-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One, though there is a disclaimer that they have yet to receive approval from the platform holders.
Warhorse Studios is fairly new in the business of making video games, but according to the name behind it, their people are far from novices, having been in games like "Crysis 3," "Forza Horizon," "Mafia" and "Mafia 2," and "ArmA."
"We want to avoid the common mistakes that can bog down a project of this nature, and that starts with having a clear vision, detailed design, mature technology, efficient internal processes, and an experienced team," said the developers.

'To The Death'
Another Kickstarter project that's currently making waves is "To The Death," which is a title hailing from creators who have worked on "Call of Duty" and "God of War" series. The game is currently slated for Steam release on the PC, Mac and Linux, but a PS4 and PS Vita platform release is a stretch goal at $750,000.
Admittedly, this may be a stretch as the project currently has 276 backers meeting $22,461 of the $400,000 goal. Then again, there are 27 days to go for pledging.

"To The Death" is touted to combine a number of genres, both in beat 'em up and shoot' em up game genres. In the game, players can switch between two warriors, who have such an intense vendetta that even in death, they are still battling it out. The setting is The Crawl, which is an entire world by itself and where players can build up their warriors with an array of weapons at their disposal.
One thing to look forward to in this game is the art. From the sample depictions on their Kickstarter page alone, gamers can easily see the art direction that comes from Cecil Kim, who has had a hand in "God of War" 1, 2 and 3 and "Ascension."
More things to look forward to in the game include the various ways to customise characters, from trials to in-game customisations, a unique multiplayer that mixes arcade, fighting and strategic character building and even a choice of how players want to combat with friends (includes co-op, split screen head-to-head and fast fight).
