Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus May Sport 4GB Of RAM
Instead of the usual September launch at IFA, Samsung Electronics is said to announce two of its most popular phablet in mid-August. The much rumored Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus along with the Galaxy Note 5 is to take on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. It seems that apart from the unveiling date these two big screen devices have more in common.
A benchmark disclosed on SamsungViet claims that the new Galaxy S6 Edge Plus may sport a 4GB of RAM configuration. The earlier reports said the device would have 3GB of RAM just like the S6 Edge. Furthermore, the report from Vietnam states that the S6 Edge Plus will be powered by the same Exynos 7420 processor that powers the S6 Edge but clocked at a faster speed. This should apparently result in some enhanced performance. This contradicts earlier reports that speculated that the S6 Edge Plus to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808. UK-based tech blog Mobile Fun also posted new images of Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. In the leaked images of S6 Edge Plus with a model number SM-G928A which was formerly under a codename of Project Zen. The device looks almost identical to S6 Edge except for the slightly curved corners. The photos also reveal that the device would be running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. But the device may be released with an updated Google operating system as well, reports MNR Daily.
Samsung is yet to confirm the final specs of its Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. But it is being speculated that the big screen handset will also feature a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, along with a 5MP front-facing camera. It may house a 3,000mAh battery which is more than its original S6 Edge. It is still debatable whether it would be sufficient to power 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is rumored to be released on Aug.13 along with Galaxy Note 5 in New York.
