Ryan Gosling dished details on working with love of his life Eva Mendes not just on camera, but off camera as well. Eva, with whom he fell in love with back in 2012 while filming “The Place Beyond The Pines,” interned and portrayed a character in Gosling’s directorial debut “Lost River.”

According to Sunday Express, "She was around when I was writing it and she was very helpful in many aspects of the process," the 34-year-old “The Notebook” star revealed. Ryan said that Eva interned with the costume department and the production design team of “Lost River,” in addition to playing Cat in the film. “She wore a lot of hats on the film,” Gosling added. Moreover, their daughter Esmeralda Amanda, who was named after Esmeralda from Victor Hugo’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame” -- which is a favourite of Gosling’s -- and Eva’s grandmother Amanda, will also appear in his movie.

On the other hand, the character played by Eva matches her in every way due to her affection for fashion. In fact, the actress launched her first clothing line named “Eva by Eva Mendes” last 2013. It is clear that fashion is Eva’s first love. Eva Mendez tells Hufftington, "If you're creative in one area it usually seeps into another, I love to production design my own home." Mendes also said that she came from a family with voluptuous women as members, which is why she plans to cater women of this shape and working on vintage-retro inspired prints and cuts.

“Lost River” is about a single mother enters a dark lifestyle after facing economic difficulties and his son finding out a road to an underwater utopia. Christina Hendricks and Saoirse Ronan are also in the cast. The movie is out in cinemas now.
