Ryan Reynolds Hit By Car While Filming 'Deadpool'
Ryan Reynolds was the victim of a hit-and-run in Vancouver on Sunday April 12. The 38-year-old actor was in town to film "Deadpool."
"The [driver] fled the scene," his publicist, Leslie Sloane, told People.com. She added that he was okay. The "Green Lantern" actor was hit by a paparazzi who was driving a car through an underground parking garage.
Reynolds joked about his accident on Twitter when a reporter from CBC tweeted him asking how he was doing. The reporter also sent him his phone number. The actor responded by telling him to put "Beachcombers" back on to get a call from him.
Justjared.com published photos of the Canadian actor with "Deadpool" co-star Brianna Hildebrand while filming on Saturday 11. Reynolds was in his red and black "Deadpool" costume talking with Hildebrand's character Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
The website also published photos of Ed Skerin. The 32-year-old actor will play Deadpool's nemesis Ajax. The former "Game of Thrones" star was seen with his face bloodied.
Deadpool is a Marvel superhero, who is a former Special Forces operative turned mercenary. He is subjected to an experiment which results in him have super accelerated healing powers. Deadpool is famous for his talkative nature and his tendency to break the fourth wall.
Variety reported in September 2014 that Marvel and Fox were coming together to make the live-feature film of Deadpool. In December, Reynolds was confirmed to play the 'Merc with a Mouth' after having already played the character in 2009's "X:Men Origins: Wolverine."
In December 2014, the actor posted a Deadpool collage on Twitter created by artist Mike Oncley and captioned it "Uh...It's Chimichanga Time." Fans of the superhero will know that 'Chimichanga' is his favorite word.
Earlier this month Reynolds posted an image in his Twitter page, of himself in full Deadpool costume. He was laid out in a seductive pose across a bear-skin rug in front of a fire, it was captioned, "With great power, comes great irresponsibility."
"Deadpool" is scheduled for release on February 12, 2016 and will be directed by Tim Miller with the script penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Werrick.
