Samsung busily prepares for the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 with mirrorless lens at the upcoming June 20 event in London. After the official announcement, the Android-based Galaxy Camera successor will reportedly be available for purchase in mid-July 2013.

Shin Jong-kyun, the Samsung CEO, has already confirmed that the company will unveil the new Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 at the event next to the other Galaxy and Ativ devices. "Samsung will release our latest mirrorless camera that runs on Google's Android software," Shin Jong-kyun stated to the reporters.

Samsung's invitation photo of the June 20 event shows a zoom ring as a hint to tempt the excited consumers. The South Korean technology giant has not given any statement that confirms the Digital Daily report about the availability of the 21MP smart camera this coming July.

Aside from the Samsung Galaxy Camear 2, Samsung has recently publicized as well other additional impressive devices in their products line-up such as the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom to venture and compete in the "smart camera" technology against rival companies.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 features and specs are still unknown but the device is expected to be the new killer version compared to the Galaxy Camera released in 2012. The mirrorless Galaxy Camera 2 lens can function with both compatible and fixed lens system and offer high-quality image results comparable to a DSLR with only the size of a compacted digital camera.

Samsung Galaxy Camera features include a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD scree, the 21x zoom lens with 23mm focal length at the widest end and a 16MP Backside Illumination (BSI) CMOS sensor. Users can control the zoom feature through physical button or touch screen.

Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) makes sure that the images captured stay clear. Another additional feature is the wireless connectivity that allows the user download camera applications on the device for photo-editing and sharing to family and friends on social networking sites.
