Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Design Feature Revealed; Galaxy Gear to Get 10-Hour Battery Life; Galaxy 12.2 Tablet Leaked
Much of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has already been leaked before this week's Samsung Unpacked event, but the main feature that has not yet been fully explored by the media is the device's design.
This time, new leaks have pointed to a revamped design for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, compared to the previous Note devices as well as other Samsung mobile devices.
According to Phone Arena, the most recent image leak, which comes from TechKiddy, shows off the device with a more square-ish look, seemingly tossing out the Samsung trademark look of rounded corners to adapt a more Apple look with the softened corners.
Aside from the corners, the bezels of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 have also been reported to be thinner than previous models, though the leak does not show this particular feature.
What do you think of the possible new look for Samsung's phablet? Will it do well for Samsung to go with the square-ish design that is already used by a lot of device manufacturers in the industry?
Design of the Samsung Galaxy note 12.2 leaked?
There may be an explanation as to why the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is going with the square-ish corners for the device. A new leak for its tablet, this time the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 has appeared via GSM Arena.
In the image, the tablet has the same square-ish feel to the make, and this can be Samsung's way of makings its devices more uniform. But considering how the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S series all have rounded corners, it does not seem to make sense to change the design of the device.
Of course, this may be innovation for Samsung in terms of trying to change the design of its devices just to make an impact in the market.
What has been heard about regarding the Samsung 12.2 tablet comes way back in July, when @evleaks revealed that it may run on the Exynos 5 Octa chipset with a denser pixel count of 2560 x1600.
Since the IFA Berlin is already happening this month, and with the most recent leak of a fully assembled device in place, it may be that Samsung is not just looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear reveal, but also the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 joining in.
Samsung Galaxy Gear: Completing the blocky look?
Venture Beat was able to get a firsthand look at Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Gear, the company's champion against Apple's much rumoured iWatch wearable technology.
As can be seen in the photo, it is very reminiscent of what has been leaked so far for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2, as far as the design is concerned. Notice the square-ish corners and the overall feel of the matte black design for all.
If the Samsung Galaxy Gear is slated to be a companion technology for the likes of the Note devices, Samsung is certainly going about the route of making their most current devices have a uniform look to them. Also, according to the report, the Galaxy Gear is something of a health tracker more than anything.
Techland from Time also adds a list of specs that are expected to hit the device. Among these include the 2-inch OLED display (though Venture Beat reported that the device sports a 3-inch display), 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4-megapixel camera with video capture, 1GB of RAM, and Bluetooth connectivity. This would make a great companion fo the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear is slated for a reveal on September 4 alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Hopefully, there will be a demo of the device at the IFA Berlin later this month.
