Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Already Has APK Files Online, Gear VR Slated For Unreal Engine Support
There's still less than a month's worth of waiting before the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 finally debuts in the U.S. and Europe. But if you are one of those who want to have a sample of the new app offers that the South Korean company is featuring, then the downloadable app files may be for you.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4's app files are now out online and according to SamMobile, they can be sideloaded to other compatible Samsung devices. Some of the apps that will be coming with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 include the S Health, S Memo, Story Album, All Together, GeoNews, Gear Manage, Smart Remote, Snapbiz Card and Easy Chart, among others.
The XDA Forums lists down the content as seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The link can also be accessed for downloading the content.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4's accessory device, the Gear VR, also has new updates in terms of its gaming arm. According to Tom's Hardware, Unreal Engine 4 will be supporting the Samsung Gear VR once October ends. This is almost expected, given that the other virtual reality headsets, Oculus Rift and Sony Project Morpheus, have also been announced to have the Unreal Engine 4 support.
The growing population of virtual reality devices may be aiding the expansion of the subscription model that is set for the Unreal Engine 4. The source has also mentioned that Epic Games, the studio responsible for the Unreal Engine, has made the software free for academic purposes, especially for those who want to learn the art of game development.
It's good that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 accessory device, Gear VR, is also part of the road map of virtual reality growth. In fact, Android Central adds that a game titled "VR Quest" may be coming to the Samsung Gear VR as well. This game is from Oculus Rift, the company behind the VR headset of the same name.
This is to be expected since Oculus has already partnered with Samsung for the creation of the Gear VR. Providing a game that reportedly has a similar vibe to the much-loved "The Legend of Zelda" franchise.
As far as details go, "VR Quest" remains to be a working title of the game. Oculus Rift has not yet even released any details about the game, such as whether or not it will release in other platforms beyond the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 accessory.
