Insiders have revealed that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Note 5 and a second generation variant of the Galaxy Note Edge pretty soon. The latter device was reportedly one of the most innovative phablets made by the Korean tech giant, primarily because of its highly unique curved edge.

The curved edge allowed the phablet’s users to display certain information and have easy access to shortcuts without having to lose focus on the content that is displayed on the main screen. As reported by Christian Post, Samsung may be launching a new similarly innovative – if not more innovative – phablet for 2015.

Sources have claimed that the Galaxy Note 5 will come out with either a 2K or a 4K Super AMOLED flat screen display, its very own modem, and a new Sony Exynos 7422 processor. What makes this particular processor stand out from the rest is that it is in all-in-one solution that can hold the device’s RAM, storage, CPU, GPU, and modem all in a single chip.

Gotta Be Mobile has pointed out that Samsung has always utilized the IFA, a widely attended trade show where tech companies introduce their new hardware to the press and the market, to launch the company’s latest Galaxy Note models. This year’s event will be held on September 4 in Berlin, Germany, which may mean that the Korean tech company may opt to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 then.

Although rumors about the upcoming phablet flagship’s release date remain unconfirmed to date, all signs seem to point to the IFA event on September.

Meanwhile, the second generation Galaxy Note Edge has reportedly gotten its code name, which is “Project Zen.” It will still feature its signature curved edge, but, this time, it will reportedly sport a 5.4- or 5.5-inch Super AMOLED dual edge curved display, 16 GB internal storage, 8-megapixel front snapper, 16-megapixel rear camera, and a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor.
