Mophie and Incipio offer the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone owners their battery cases to provide additional battery life to the Android device. The Mophie Juice Pack is currently available at the Carphone Warehouse for £70 (US$112) while Incipio sells their Offgrid Backup Battery Case at $89.99 direct price.

The Mophie Juice Pack Battery Case is built-in with a 2300mAh battery that can deliver 80% charge to the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. The protective case accessory will be exclusively available for two weeks at Carphone Warehouse with the colour options of red, pink, black and white.

Incipio, on the other hand, offers another protective charging case called the Offgrid Backup Battery Case for the Samsung Galaxy S4. In terms of case design, the Incipio Offgrid case and the Mophie Juice Pack has equal thickness but the Mophie battery case provides a more solid, sleek and rounded feel compared to the larger and more difficult to grip Incipio case.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 users are required to fully slide in the smartphone into the Mophie Juice Pack battery case in order for the accessory to transmit power. However, the Incipio Offgrid case only requires the Samsung device owner to place the smartphone on the battery portion and then plug it in the buit-in micro USB connector.

Furthermore, the Incipio Offgrid battery case features a small cutout on the right section at the rear side of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to allow the speaker's sound to get through. The Incipio case will be shipped with a headphone extension cord as well.

The PCMag report includes the battery life comparisons on the available Samsung Galaxy S4 protective cases. The report reads: "The Galaxy S4's internal 2600mAh battery lasted 10 hours and 50 minutes in our talk time test for the T-Mobile model. The Offgrid, with its beefy 3100mAh cell, powered our completely drained test handset through an astounding 15 hours and 24 minutes of talk time. To compare, the Mophie Juice Pack$99.95 at Amazon with its 2300mAh battery, turned in a score of 7 hours 12 minutes on the same test. With the Offgrid, you get more than twice the added battery life. And it's $10 less expensive than the Juice Pack."
