New rumors emerged surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the release date for the device is set in April 2013.

Samsung Galaxy S4 aims to replace the current best-selling smartphone of the South Korea's tech giant - Samsung Galaxy S3. And while the Galaxy S4 is not expected to arrive until 2013, there are quite a few rumors out there regarding Samsung's rumored device.

Given the success and features of the Galaxy S3, there are quite a few consumers, including Galaxy S2 owners who are coming off-contract who are extremely intrigued by the Galaxy S4 - Samsung's presumed successor to the current Galaxy smartphone.

While unannounced, Samsung's Galaxy S4 already has received a number of rumored launch dates and features which all help to paint a very vague picture of what consumers can expect from the Galaxy S4. However, based on previous Samsung events and releases as well as current rumors, we can take an even closer look at what to expect from the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 announcement could arrive in April.

It is initially reported that the Galaxy S4 will be launched in February at Mobile World Congress or in April. And given those rumors, and the fact that the Galaxy S3 launched in May of last year, we suspect that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S4 at an event during the first half of 2013. The Galaxy S3 is still selling well so do not expect the Galaxy S4 right off the bat in 2013.

We should at least wait for a year since the release of Samsung Galaxy S3 for the release of its successor. The Galaxy S4 release date has been pegged for mid-2013 which means that both February and April make sense here. However, April seems more likely given that manufacturers like to use yearly cycles and April is much closer to the Galaxy S3′s release month.

There are speculations that Samsung will hold an extravagant unpacked event in a large venue taken into consideration that a lot of consumers are anticipating for the device. It will not be surprising if Samsung will hold a separate event like what it did last year for the Galaxy S3.

Below are some of the rumored features and specs of the upcoming smartphone.

  1. Design - Consumers should not expect the same exact design with the Samsung Galaxy S3. There will definitely be some design tweaks present in the new device.
  2. Screen Display - The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to sport a 5-inch full HD display with full 1080p and a whopping 440 pixels per inch.
  3. Processor - There are rumors that the Galaxy S4 will have two quad-core processors, which will not be identical, however. Instead, one will be more powerful than the other, and system processes would be allocated to either chip in what should be a more energy-efficient manner.
  4. Operating System - There are two OS candidates for the Galaxy S4′s on board operating system - Jelly Bean version 4.2 and the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Currently, a rumor pegs Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie as the on board, out of the box operating system on Samsung's upcoming device, given that it will arrive in mid-2013 when Android announce new OS.
  5. Storage - Samsung also began mass producing 128GB memory chips for smartphones and tablets earlier this year, and we could see storage capacities that high as early as next year. With this, the Samsung will continue its reign in producing devices with large storage capacity.
  6. 4G/LTE and NFC - The new device will surely have 4G/LTE and NFC support and other unique and advanced features and technologies.
  7. Camera - The Galaxy S4 might also sport a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, which will intimidate other smartphones with 8MP back shooters.
