Samsung Galaxy S5 Leaked Homescreen Photos Show Great UI
Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 may feature a great user interface based on the new leaked photos of its alleged homescreen.
Reliable tipster @evleaks tweeted an image of Samsung's next-generation phone user interface. The photos provided everyone a closer look at what the new TouchWiz Ui will look like. The shots showed a detailed view of lock screen and home screen widget that was featured in the original images, hinting that it may be used by Samsung to deliver notifications and contextual information to your phone.
Although Google Now is integrated in Samsung devices, the company failed to deliver easy access notifications with a swipe up unlike other Android phones. Samsung devices require users to hold down the menu button for a couple of seconds.
The photos showed some resemblance to Google Now. The notifications covered several subjects such as social media shares, live flight info, sports scores, weather updates, payment receipts, concert information, upcoming appointments, delivery notifications and health data. However, it is still unclear whether Samsung can tap in Google's data and deliver the same results.
SamMobile cited a Samsung insider who confirmed some of the features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 last week. The handset will come with a 2K display and 16 MP back camera. The smartphone will also come in two variants: one with metal casing and the other has a plastic body.
The insider said the Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack an AMOLED screen display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels although he did not confirm the screen size. As for the camera, Galaxy S5 will have an 16 megapixel camera at the back and may skip optical image stabilization.
Lastly, Samsung Galaxy S5 will come in two models that reminded many people of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. However, it was unconfirmed whether the Galaxy S5 with metal casing will be Samsung's new premium line, Galaxy F.
Samsung Galaxy S5 may also include an octo-core Exynos 6 chipset or Snapdragon 805 SoC for the 4G/LTE variant. The handset is also expected to run with Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is reported to take place in April.
