Samsung Galaxy S6 Visits AnTuTu For The Second Time, Revealing Quad HD Display And 16 MP Camera, Instead Of 20 MP Unit
Apparently, the prototype version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with model number SM-G925F has visited the AnTuTu benchmark testing site for the second time. This time around, the reported Galaxy S6 version's screenshot shows the exact Quad HD resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
The confirmation on the Quad HD resolution suggests that the 2015 flagship device will house the same physical home key with an embedded fingerprint scanner beneath the screen, opines Phone Arena. As far as the other key speculated specifications go, the Galaxy S6 will feature a 5.5-inch display, topped with the aforesaid resolution. Plus, the handset will reportedly be powered by a 64-bit octa-core (Samsung's Exynos 7) processor, clocked at 1.8 GHz with ARMv8 instructions set. In addition, the graphics will be taken care by Mali-T768 GPU.
When it comes to camera configuration, the upcoming device will reportedly sport a 16 MP rear-facing unit. Readers should note that, initial rumours pointed to a 20 MP unit for the S6. Evidently, the first visit made by the Galaxy S6 with model number SM-G925F, in fact, boasted the 20 MP unit, says the same site. However, the recent visit shows only a 16 MP unit. Furthermore, the handset is believed to be paired with a tri-band LTE Cat. 10 modem.
On the other hand, earlier report revealed that Samsung is working on a new project named Project Zero. Incidentally, this project is designing the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone from scratch. Apart from the flagship device, a "curved version" of the S6 is reportedly in progress, under the same project. Notably, the curved model will resemble the limited-edition Galaxy Note Edge. Also, this handset is reportedly code named as the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Despite the resemblance to the Note Edge, the difference between the two devices is that the Galaxy S6 Edge will reportedly be curved on both the sides, while the Note Edge is curved only on the right side. Come 2015, Samsung will be releasing a flat Galaxy S6 and a curved Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. But then, the curved model will likely be released in selected regions, similar to the Note Edge, reports Phone Arena.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 models are expected to be launched during the MWC event, scheduled in February to March time-frame. Following the announcement, the device is believed to hit the store shelves in April.
