Samsung Galaxy S7 price slashed by $150 on Walmart
Want a new phone but not sure what to get? This could help you make your decision. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is now available at an attractive discount of $150 (AU$198) on Walmart, with the retailer giant also offering $150 (AU$198) off on the Samsung Galaxy S6.
According to CNN, buyers in the US must visit a Walmart retail outlet to take advantage of the sweet deals as the offer is not available online. The discount is also only valid if customers make their Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S6 purchase through an installment plan with carriers AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. The deal is not available through T-Mobile.
Once the smartphone is purchased through the installment plan, the $150 discount will be credited to the user's monthly bill. The promotion, which began on April 1, will continue until the end of June.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is the company's flagship smartphone of 2015, while the Galaxy S7 is the upgraded edition launched in February this year. Both devices feature 5.1-inch Quad HD resolution supporting Super AMOLED screens. The Galaxy S7 comes with an added feature, the Always-on display, which allows various notifications to be shown on screen without draining the device's battery life.
A Exynos 7420 chipset powers the Galaxy S6 along with 3 GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S7 is available in Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 chipset variants featuring 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy S6 lacks a microSD card, but Samsung has included its support for the Galaxy S7. Both devices are available in storage editions of 32 GB and 64 GB.
The Galaxy S6 is powered by 2550 mAh battery and the Galaxy S7 features a 3000 mAh battery that carries support for wireless charging. Both models carry premium appeal with front and rear panels made up of glass along with a metallic frame running on their edges.
