The widely-popular Galaxy Tab S slate is gearing up to get a successor in the form of “Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.” A live image of the upcoming next-generation Galaxy Tab S2 has surfaced online.

According to the credible tipster @OnLeaks’ Twitter account, the Galaxy Tab S2 will feature a humongous 9.7-inch display. The South Korean tech giant has reportedly set the Galaxy Tab S2 release date in June. In the meantime, GSM Arena says, the design elements of the upcoming tablet will be similar to the recently released Galaxy S6. Looking back at the history, Samsung has always utilised the same design seen in the flagship on that year’s tablet. In fact, the predecessor Tab S rocked the same design as the Galaxy S5 in 2014. Therefore, it should not be a surprise to see the new slate with a mix of glass and metal design.

As far as the speculated Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 specifications and features go, the slate will reportedly have provision for cellular network connectivity. The leaked press render clearly shows a SIM card slot and a microSD card slot located adjacent to each other. On the other hand, going by the earlier reports, the Galaxy Tab S2 will reportedly feature a relatively thinner design when compared to the ultra-thin Apple iPad Air 2. Furthermore, the killer 9.7-inch display will apparently be complemented by 2,048 x 1,536 pixels screen resolution, which is similar to the current-generation iPads and the Nexus 9 tablet.

When it comes to the hardware component, the Galaxy Tab S2 will reportedly be powered by an octa-core processor with Samsung Exynos chipset. Plus, the device will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM configuration. Speaking of memory specification, the slate will come equipped with 32 GB of internal storage capacity. To top it off, the tablet will reportedly sport a good 8 MP rear-facing camera unit, in addition to a 2 MP front-facing shooter unit for selfies and video chats. In any case, readers should note that, Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy Tab S2 specifications or release date thus far.
