Sean Penn Talks About His Marriage To Charlize Theron; Considers It His ‘First’
Sean Penn recently revealed his decision to marry his girlfriend and actress Charlize Theron. However, the actor claimed it would be his “first marriage” instead of it being the third.
Penn was previously married to pop queen Madonna from 1985 to 1989 and then with actress Robin Wright until 2010. Walking down the aisle again would actually count for his third marriage. However, during an interview with Esquire magazine for its March issue, the actor said he would consider it his “first marriage” if he decides to marry Theron. “You say I’ve been married twice before but I’ve been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today, so I wouldn’t even consider it a third marriage, I’d consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again,” he said.
Penn, 53, admitted he too was surprised to be in love again. But confessed it’s more romantic, much more fulfilling and a wonderful feeling to be in a relationship that makes you think “you’re a good person within it.” According to Mail Online, Penn credits Theron for taming his bad boy image. The actor has reportedly been struggling with his temper. According to the site, in 2012, he was ordered by the court to attend anger management classes to avoid imprisonment for attacking a photographer. But it was supposedly when he met Charlize that he mellowed down. During the interview, the actor also expressed how much he values his relationship with Charlize Theron and said, “'To run into somebody now who you care about is a much passionate, deeper, truer and – God! – a much happier feeling.”
Penn and Theron first made their relationship known in January of last year. According to Mail Online, the couple reportedly got engaged last Christmas. It’s believed the actor even expressed his desire to adopt Theron’s 3-year-old son Jackson in case they’d get married. Penn is said to be really committed to their relationship. According to the site, he has been thinking of settling down in Los Angeles for good to be with Charlize and her son.
