“Saturday Night Live,”or "SNL" season 41 is set to premiere on October 3, and among those who have been confirmed to appear in the new season as hosts are Tracy Morgan, 46, Amy Schumer, 34, and Miley Cyrus, 22. This marks Morgan’s return to the NBC show where he was a cast member for eight seasons.
Before starring from 2006 to 2013 in the NBC sitcom “30 Rock ,” which was created by Tina Fey, 45, Jordan was a regular “SNL” cast member from 1996 to 2003. After taking a break following the car accident that killed his fellow comedian James McNair in 2014, he is set to host the “SNL” episode that will air on October 17.
The “SNL” season 41 premiere episode will be hosted by Cyrus, who has previously hosted the show twice. Prior to this, the “Wrecking Ball” singer will also host the MTV Video Music Awards, which will be held at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on August 30.
Unlike for Jordan and Cyrus, this will be Schumer’s first time to host “SNL.” The “Trainwreck” writer and star will make her first “SNL” hosting debut on October 10, which is a week before the debut of her stand-up comedy special titled “Amy Schumer: Live From the Apollo.”
NBC is yet to announce the musical guests who will appear in “SNL” alongside Jordan, Cyrus and Schumer. There are still no details if Cyrus will once again serve as host and musical guest at the same time.
Prior to the announcement of his return as “SNL” host, Morgan celebrated a joint bachelor and bachelorette party with her fiancée Megan Wollover, 28, according to Page Six. The two were engaged in 2011 and are set to get married in September. They have a daughter together who was born on July 2, 2013 in New York.
