‘Sons of Anarchy’ Stars And Their Next Roles: Kim Coates, Jimmy Smits, Tommy Flanagan And Drea de Matteo
Kurt Sutter’s “Sons of Anarchy” ended its seventh and final season in December and fans are wondering where the cast now after the show’s epic season finale. Gearing up for his post-SOA show “The Bastard Executioner,” showrunner Kurt Sutter us teaming up with SOA co-stars Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller) and Timothy V. Murphy (Galen O’Shay) in the pilot medieval drama series.
Here are the “Sons of Anarchy” stars and their next roles.
Timothy V. Murphy
Known for his role as the villainous IRA member Galen O’Shey, Murphy is set play Father Ruskin in Sutter’s “The Bastard Executioner.” The 54-year-old Irish actor’s role was described as a gentle former soldier who left the army to join the seminary. He will play as a priest, rector and teacher of the court.
Jimmy Smits
After joining the SOA ensemble cast for two season, Jimmy Smits is set to play a role in the upcoming drama “The Art of Living” alongside Edward James Olmos. The story follows the relationship between a wrongly convicted ex-gang member on death row and the people who vowed to prove his innocence.
Drea de Matteo
The former “Sopranos” star is set to play Krissi Cates, a stripper who may hold the clue to solve a murder in the movie “Dark Places.” Penned by “Gone Girl” author Gillian Flynn, “Dark Places” also stars Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Sterling Jerins and Tye Sheridan. The actress is also scheduled to star opposite Selma Blair and Adrian Grenier in “Sex, Death and Bowling.”
Theo Rossi
Playing the tortured biker Juice Ortiz, Theo Rossi is set to hit the big screen as he joined the cast of “Low Riders” with “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria and Damian Bichir.
Tommy Flanagan
After saying goodbye to his character Chibs, Tommy Flanagan is gearing up for his big screen role in the 2015 film “Light Wounds.” After wrapping up his SOA role, Flanagan joined the cast of ABC’s Sunday drama show “Revenge” for a recurring role as the powerful and dangerous Malcolm Black.
Kim Coates
Coates is moving on from his role as Tig Trager and is now voicing an animated movie “Pirate Passage.” He is also set to play the lead star in “Officer Downe,” an indie adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel by Joe Casey.
