Stone Temple Pilots Frontman Becomes a Crooner For Christmas Album
Scott Weiland, the lead singer of the rock band Stone Temple Pilots is set to be a crooner for his very first Christmas album entitled 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.'
This can start some of his rock fans laughing since it is quite extraordinary to see the 44-year-old singer to complete a Christmas songbook. He shared with CNN that this is way too different this time for it was made to capture the heart of the season and at the same hold on to the essence of spirituality.
Weiland is seen this time also with hair all brushed up and slick with some pomade. It would make you feel as if he was transported from some other era of the circa 1962. He channels Crosby with his own tuned on 'White Christmas' and even get to have that feel of Nat King Cole for his smooth version of 'The Christmas Song.'
It would even surprise you more once you get to hear him make a bossa nova twist with 'Silent Night' and hear the beat of those reggae drums for 'O Holy Night.' There is only one original song in the album called 'Happy Christmas and Many More.'
The co-producer of the album attested that the rock singer did a good job trying out to be some sort of a classic crooner even if there was so much constraint in time, just so they can be able to release right in time for the holiday season.
This just proves how some rock artists like Scott Weiland can still be a secret holiday romantic.
