'Suicide Squad': Costumes Of Supervillains Revealed, David Ayer Teases Official Image
David Ayer recently teased the first official image of the full cast of his film, “Suicide Squad.” The 47-year-old shared the image on his Twitter account.
In the image, the cast of the film can be seen dressed in their specific supervillain costumes. Will Smith is dressed as Dead Shot, Margaret Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as The Enchantress and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, among others. Each character is shown carrying a weapon and they look ready to take on the world. In the background, a wooden panel can be seen, which reads, “Welcome to Belle Forbe.”
The poster has a punk vibe to it and Robbie dressed as Harley Quinn clearly stands out. She has her face covered in white make-up and is wearing black bottoms, high boots and white top. Her hair is tied in pigtails. Ayer captioned the image with, “Task Force X assembled and ready. #SuicideSquad.”
Just before revealing the first official look at the cast of the film, Ayer had hinted about the official poster revelation on his Twitter account. He had tweeted “Get Ready” on May 3, and even Delevingne took to Twitter and said that something exciting is on the way.
“Suicide Squad” will feature DC universe supervillains who will come together to perform a special task. They will execute the task in exchange ofa shorter prison time. The task force will be created by Amanda Waller for an agency called ARGUS. The film is scheduled to be released on Aug. 5, 2016.
Meanwhile, the official cast image did not feature Jared Leto as Joker. It is not known why Joker was left out from the poster and Ayer did not give any specific reason for it. Leto will sport green hair for his role of Joker in the film. He is also reportedly bulking up for the film. He shared in his previous interview with Billboard that he is building biceps to do justice to his role. “I'm trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours – and I'm terrible at eating a lot."
