“Suicide Squad” scooper Umberto Gonzalez once again took to his Instagram page a couple of days ago to reveal some details about Jared Leto’s role as The Joker in “Suicide Squad.” The 2016 version of the character will reportedly be based off from “The Dark Knight Returns” who has bleached skin and green hair. According to Gonzalez, it makes sense that Leto revealed he’s putting on weight for his role since The Joker in David Ayer’s film is definitely not skinny but actually more muscular. “He's lean & scarred but his suit does have broad shoulders,” Gonzalez said.

One scene in the film reportedly even shows him working out inside his cell where he’s being held as an inmate by “Suicide Squad” head Amanda Waller. This scene supposedly shows Joker doing hand stand push-ups as he is being interrogated by Waller. Cinema Blend noted some previous reports claiming this interrogation happens inside the Belle Reve prison complex, where Joker is being asked for information regarding any criminal activities he’s involved in. Likewise, it’s believed Waller has Joker held captive since he’s using him to keep an eye out for Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

A source told Gonzalez that Joker will also have a lot of scenes with Belle Reve resident psychiatrist Hugo Strange while he’s being held in prison. Strange will reportedly have a one-on-one interaction with Joker as well as with Harley Quinn. However, Gonzalez didn’t reveal any further details regarding this scene, including who’s been cast to play as Hugo Strange.

Gonzalez further added that when Joker is introduced in “Suicide Squad” he would have already committed numerous crimes including killing off one of Batman’s (Ben Affleck) sidekicks. It’s still uncertain if this scene will play out in the film and just who among Batman’s sidekicks will be murdered. However, according to Screengonzo, there’s a possibility that Jason Todd will be featured in the movie as the caped crusader’s assistant.
