‘Suicide Squad': Tom Hardy Teases The Joker's Big Role In The Film
Tom Hardy recently teased Jared Leto’s importance in “Suicide Squad” because of his role as The Joker. The actor also explained his reasons why he had to back out of the film, where he was supposedly cast to play as Rick Flagg.
In a recent interview with Collider, Tom Hardy stressed the importance of The Joker in “Suicide Squad.” Considering the actor was once cast in the film, Hardy revealed he’s read some parts of the script to know “what’s gonnna happen with The Joker and Harley Quinn.” He didn’t reveal any further details to avoid spoilers, but seemed certain that fans would love The Joker in the film. Hardy repeatedly teased the possible big role of the villain.
“Everybody loves The Joker. Will Smith is a dope guy, but everybody loves The Joker and that’s gonna, I think, be a very important film for fans,” he said.
According to Comicbookmovie, it’s apparent that Hardy is thrilled to see The Joker and Harley Quinn in “Suicide Squad.” The actor’s statements regarding these villains seem to suggest the significant role they will have in the film.
During the same interview, Tom Hardy also revealed his reason for dropping out of “Suicide Squad,” where he was supposedly cast for the role of Rick Flagg. Previous speculations concerning the actor’s exit from “Suicide Squad” were varied. Rumours had it the actor was not happy with his diminished role in the revised script. But Warner Bros. had previously said the actor’s exit was because of schedule conflict and Tom Hardy also stuck with the same reason when asked by Collider.
The actor revealed that filming for “Suicide Squad” in Toronto, Canada was just not possible as it overruns his filming schedule for “The Revenant.” “There’s a very practical element as to why I’ve missed out on that foray, which is because Alejandro [G. Inarritu] has overshot by three months in Calgary, so we’ve got to go back out to Patagonia or Alaska to continue shooting The Revenant which has turned into a much bigger beast than we thought, but that also looks exceptional,” Hardy explained.
Tom Hardy also shared his disappointment in having to exit “Suicide Squad.” The actor revealed that he was “really bummed out” since he had also wanted to work on the film knowing the script is going to be great.
